get ready for the debate tonight!

I'm guessing we'll see plenty of Obama's magic:

Hi Christian. One of your cousins here. Glad you support McCain. I wish he had been more articulate tonight in the debate. I'm afraid we are about to see "the breakthrough in the age of Obama". I think Obama is an hollow creation, a puppet, of the liberal media and power structure, who came to power and celebrity without any real accomplishment (except beating the Clintons - impressive, but not an accomplishment in itself). How this has happened is beyond me. I've heard every bit of his life story and nothing in it shows me he is ready (or worthy) to be president. Doesn't experience, accomplishment, and proven leadership count for anything? Rhetoric is the real winner of this election cycle. Sad time!

hey danielle! good to hear from you.
I thought McCain was stronger tonight, definitely in attack mode, which I'm sure turns off people. But I really can't blame him. That cartoon I posted isn't that far from the truth at all. No one has questioned one thing about him and it is insane. Every time I saw Obama sitting there grinning while McCain spoke tonight, I couldn't help but imagine what he was so happy about. He's probably thinking "I don't need to do one thing tonight, I've got this thing wrapped up. The media has blamed McCain for the economy, and ignored all my shady dealings and friends from the start. I don't need to say one thing, all my minions will keep doing the work for me..." something like that I'm sure.

Obama has been deemed victorious. The media has been spoon feeding everyone Obama nonsense for a while now. He knew it'd be fairly easy since the country was so drunk with Bush hatred, and he was right. The fact that he is a socialist and clearly unqualified has almost let McCain have a chance, but this economic thing has closed the deal.

Who cares about his ignoring this problem for the past couple years, taking money from those causing it and even supporting crazy lending practices, this crisis is one more thing on the long list of crap Bush and the Repubs gets blamed for.

So to sum up, I think it's a done deal and it's so frustrating. I agree with you, he's a hollow shell. If he isn't as radical as the people he hangs out with then he's an opportunist of the worst kind, which I think is almost worse.
The only thing I can think to stay positive is that 1.it'll be cool that we've had a black president (and hopefully people like Obama can quit using it as a card you get to play whenever you feel like it and finally just get past it!), and 2. hopefully Obama can't change anything too much to actually affect me.
For how much I get worked up about it, I have a feeling that not too much will change no matter what.

Hey Christian, This is your Aunt Liz, and I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your thoughts. I'll bet your dad's loving all the dialog within your family! Anyway, it's fun to "get to know you" on the blog, and just so you know, I almost always agree with what you write :)

Take care, and let us know the next time you make it to Utah! We'd love to see you.

Hi Aunt Liz!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the support! I don't know why I get so into some of this stuff, actually, it's clearing from my Dad, but it's fun and at the very least keeps me somewhat informed with what's going on in the world.

Don't know when we'll make it to Utah again, but hopefully before too long!

I think the debates have been super unhelpful. Both candidates just repeat the same thing over and over, not answering the questions and not responding to each other. If McCain actually refuted what Obama says and gave direct answers, he'd come out so far ahead!
